Alan Haehnel is new to Hanover as a teacher, but he's not new either to teaching English (18 years at Hartford High School in Vermont) or to his other passions, directing musicals and writing one-act plays. Eighty of his plays written for the education market have been performed at schools across the country. He directed the smash-hit production of West Side Story at Hanover in 2008 and Footloose in 2006. This spring he will direct Hanover's musical Beauty and the Beast.
